Thats difficult to explain
The thing is to copy each part to a new layer (or new image) that is only as wide as the selection that you are cutting.
When you cut the sig you must look at the width of the part you are cutting (the high always stays the same). So lets say you have a sig that is 250px high and 600px wide and you cut it in 3 equal parts of 200px wide each.

You select the 1st part from 0-200px and copy that on to a new layer or new image that is 250x high and 200px wide.
Now you select the part of your sig from 200-400px wide and again copy it to a new layer/image that's 250px high and 200 px wide
And lastly copy the part from 400-600 px and also place it on a new layer/image that is again 250px high and 200px wide.
